Politics, politics...

Well, the unthinkable has happened. Our new elected politicians did it again. World premiere... Ta da! The new Romanian government will be half PD-L (Democrat-Liberal Party - right orientation) and PSD (Social-Democrat Party - left orientation). We went to the elections to vote the corrupted PSD off, and now we're stuck with them.

OMFG Election Day!

Needless to say that November 30th has been established as election day for the romanian parliament. Considering that 30th is a Sunday and December 1st is a national holiday (Official Romania's Day), "many" people were expected to vote in the first post-revolution uninominal elections. Especially those people roaming the sky slides at a prolonged weekend in the mountains. As you have seen at most of the televisions around the world, the romanian candidates for senate and deputy chamber(the lower chamber of the legislative system), lately solve their differences by throwing water in each other's faces. Nice. Very nice. In fact, as the tv show moderator said(when she recovered from the shock) "Unbelivable". I'm so eager to see where the negotiations to create a new government will go.

How "So fast" turns into "So slow"

These days I had to get a loan from a bank, I won't give any names. The thing is, this was supposed to be the bank that gives you the loan in 2 days, so they said. The problem is, I am a programmer so I pay different taxes than the rest of the people do. So, they had a "problem" with my salary because their little software was unable to reach the same salary as in my papers. So, here I was, with a salary that could well cover the loan, but unable to get trough the thick heads of some bank people. So the 2 days turned to 4, and that because I was insistent. Also, another "little" thig... To "make this ok" they asked me to sign a request paper with the salary they computed, which was lower than the actual paycheck. I call this forgery. The law also calls this forgery. They call it helping a client. Guess what I did.

Delays... delays...

Well, this morning I had to go with my wife to the doctor. As in every respectable medical facility in the country, appointments don't matter. So, we wake up at 6 to be at the clinic at 8 and guess what... There was someone else with an appointment at 7:30 who didn't get in. Why? The doctor wasn't there. So patients respect the hours but doctors can't. How are they supposed to cure you if they cant keep appointments? This private clinics thing works exactly as the rest of the health system in Romania. Just don't get sick.

Hey, what I forgot to tell you is that I live in one of the most "pitoresque" cities in the country. The city of Craiova, heart of the land called Oltenia.

Here I am on the road again

This is a new road I'm starting here... The road that may lead the reader either to criticism or to a deeper understanding or the Romanian system. I start this blog because I am sick of what happens in this country and I want other people to know what I know, or will know. I hope that my point of view is somewhat objective, but I don't know how much since I live in this country, and that cannot keep one's judgement impartial. So this blog is gonna show you what me and my friends go trough in this "civilized" country we call Romania, the country where anything goes.
